Embracing the Unexpected: Gardening Adventures in Our Greenhouse
As we dive deeper into the growing season, I wanted to share some of the exciting developments happening in our garden. Our greenhouse, with its enclose high tunnel, has presented us with unique challenges and surprises that reshaped our gardening journey this year.
One of the most notable issues we’ve encountered is the lack of pollination for our fruiting flowers. With the greenhouse sealed tight, our friendly pollinators, the bees, haven’t been able to make their way inside. To combat this, I took matters into my own hands and learned the art of hand-pollinating our butternut squash. It was a rewarding experience that reminded me of the intricate connections between plants and nature.
In light of the challenges we’ve faced, I’m also planning to plant more tomatoes outside of the greenhouse. This will allow them the space to thrive and encourage natural pollination from the bees. We will be starting new flower plots as well. We discovered another greenhouse hurdle: the temperature soured too high during those very warm days. Thankfully, Justin installed some vents and a fan for better airflow—a game changer for our plants!
On a brighter note, I recently planted two big beds of beets, and I couldn’t be more excited about this beautiful crop! We love eating beet greens and enjoy pickling, roasting, or even juicing beets. But this year, I have something special to announce: our next product—BeetBerry Polish.
BeetBerry Polish is a multipurpose addition to our collection, and it’s been dubbed “the missing piece” by some of my favorite test subjects. Here’s how to use it: start with a dropper-sized amount in your palm and gently exfoliate your face, neck and chest in a circular motion. You’ll feel the beetroot powder working its magic. Then, add a few drops of water to your hands and massage it over the BeetBerry Polish. The castor oil activates the cleansing component, leaving your skin feeling smooth and refreshed. The Beetroot dissipates and is driven into the skin.
But that’s not all! Leave it on as a powerhouse antioxidant-rich serum that doubles as a tinted moisturizer. Trust me, you’ll glow! It’s perfect for application in the morning, evening, or whenever your skin needs a little extra love.
