Our Process: From Stem to Skin
Every product at Ridings & Co. undergoes a meticulous journey, from our soil to your skin. We begin with intentional planning, identifying consumer needs and researching suitable ingredients that we can grow. This leads to structured plans and the selection of organic and non GMO heirloom seeds. Our growing environments, including gardens, our greenhouse, and food forest, are carefully cultivated, with soil prepared using natural materials such as wood ash, organic plant matter and chicken and duck fertilizer and decomposing wood chipping to enhance crop health. Optimal planting times and companion planting techniques ensure healthy growth, which we monitor closely to guarantee vitality. It feels like an orchestrated way of planting, it’s our favorite part—seeing what makes each plant thrive welcoming both predators and beneficials to the party. Ingredients are harvested at their peak potency for maximum effectiveness, then either dehydrated or air dried and stored propertly to preserve their benefits. We also emphasize waste management by repurposing unused plant materials sustainably giving back to the earth, minimizing waste throughout the process. Rigorous formulation practices take place in our Ridings & Co. lab and then on to clinically test in our Ridings & Co. Test Salon, and we use sustainable packaging and shipping methods to further our commitment to the environment. We promote refill and reuse practices as our product packaging is ultraviolet glass to encourage sustainability among our consumers.
Our Approach
Centered on soil health to skin, our collection is free from harmful substances. We pride ourselves on being free of paragons, sulfates, phthalates, synthetic fragrances, gluten, GMO’s, soy, and formaldehyde, with our entire range being vegan and cruelty-free. By intentionally planting and positioning ingredients to replicate healthy forest floors, we foster robust ecosystems through seasonal, nature-led regenerative farming and gardening practices.
